Auto-Create a Single Field Group Item When a Specific Value is Selected

To help speed up data entry and reduce manual steps, field group items can be automatically created when a user selects specific field values.

📌 Example:
If the user answers “Yes” to the question “Does the flooring need to be replaced?”, the system prompts them to add a single item.

⚙️ How It Works

👨‍💼 Admin Setup

An Admin enables this feature during template configuration:

  1. 🧩 Add a New Field or revise an existing template field.
  2. 🧭 Set Workflow field
    • Select: "Create one item"
  3. Set Field Type: Boolean, Selection or Button Selection
  4. 🗂️ Define Trigger Details
    • Trigger Value: Set the field value that initiates the process (e.g., Yes or No)
    • Add item to: Choose where the item will be added (e.g., Repair ItemsScreenshot 2025-08-04 at 2.09.10 PM.png

👷‍♀️ User Experience During Project Completion

1️⃣ User Edits a Field

While working on a project, the user selects a value in a field that matches the trigger (e.g., selects “Yes” in “Does the flooring need replaced?”).

2️⃣ 🔄 Add Item

  • A confirmation screen appears and user can tap "Add and Edit Item" or "Cancel".
  • When "Add and Edit Item" is selected, a single item will be created and can edit the item.

3️⃣ ✅ Item Selection Flow

  • Once the item has been completed, it will appear in the item list. The user is automatically returned to the same field they previously edited to trigger the item's creation. From here, they can seamlessly proceed to the next field in their workflow.

🧭 Same as "Add Items"—Just Smarter

This flow is identical to using the “Add Items” button, except it happens automatically when a specific field value is selected—saving time and keeping users focused on their workflow.
