To help speed up data entry and reduce manual steps, service items can be automatically created when a user selects specific field values.
📌 Example:
If the user answers “Yes” to the question “Does the flooring need to be replaced?”, the system prompts them to add related service line items right away.
⚙️ How It Works
👨💼 Admin Setup
An Admin enables this feature during template configuration:
1. 🧩 Add a New Field or Revise an existing template field.
2. 🧭 Set Workflow field to "Create service items".
3. Set the Field Type to "Boolean, Selection, or Button Selection".
4. 🗂️ Define Trigger Details
-
- Field Group: Choose where the service items will be added (e.g., Repair Items)
- Trigger Value: Set the field value that initiates the process (e.g., Yes or No)
- Select the field group where to add the item to.
👷♀️ User Experience During Project Completion
1️⃣ User Edits a Field
While working on a project, the user selects a value in a field that matches the trigger (e.g., selects “Yes” in “Does the flooring need to be replaced?”).
2️⃣ 🔄 Service Item Selector Appears
- No modal or confirmation screen appears.
- The Service Item Selector opens immediately for the user to choose from available service items.
3️⃣ ✅ Item Selection Flow
- 📋 If Multiple Items are Selected
→ Items are added directly to the field group.
→ The user can scroll down later to review or edit them.
🧭 Same as "Add Items"—Just Smarter
This flow is identical to using the “Add Items” button, except it happens automatically when a specific field value is selected—saving time and keeping users focused on their workflow.
