How to add clickable fields (phone, emails, web links) in a template

๐Ÿ“ฑ Clickable Fields in SiteCapture Mobile App

Phone numbers, emails, and web links can be tapped directly from your SiteCapture mobile app.

1. Open the Template Editor

๐Ÿ“ Navigate to Settings > Templates and select the template you want to edit.

2. Configure Field Settings in Templateย 

๐Ÿ›  Action: In the template, set the field to Text or Long Text type and mark it as Admin Only.

3. Add Default Contact Detailsย 

๐Ÿ“ž Phone โ€” Add your preferred phone number.
โœ‰๏ธ Email โ€” Add your main contact email address.
๐ŸŒ Web Link โ€” Add a relevant website URL.

These will be saved as default text so they appear automatically whenever a new project is created.

4. Manually Enter Data in the Web Appย 

๐Ÿ’ป Open the projectย  in the Web App.
โœ๏ธ Fill out the Phone Number, Email, and/or Web Link fields.

Phone number format options:

  • 510-555-1212
  • (510) 555-1212
  • 1-510-555-1212

๐Ÿ“Œ Tip: Correct formatting ensures numbers are recognized and clickable in the mobile app.

5. Test Clickable Fields in the Mobile App

๐Ÿ“ฒ Open the project in your SiteCapture mobile app.
โœ… Tap the phone number, email, or web link and verify it opens the correct app:

  • ๐Ÿ“ž Phone โ†’ Dialer
  • ๐Ÿ“ง Email โ†’ Mail App
  • ๐ŸŒ Web โ†’ Browser

โœ… Best Practices

  • Use consistent formatting for all phone numbers.
  • Test fields on both iOS and Android devices.
  • Only Admins should modify these fields.
