The AI Image Validation feature allows users to see when photos fail automated validation checks. This helps ensure all required images meet project standards before leaving the field. This feature has to be enabled by SiteCapture. Please contact SiteCapture Support.
👷 User Workflow
1️⃣ Complete the Project
The user finishes capturing photos and sets the project status.
📌 Example:
Mark the project as Complete or another required status.
2️⃣ Sync the Project 🔄
After completing the project:
- The user taps Sync.
- The project uploads to the backend.
- AI validation processing begins.
3️⃣ Sync Again to Retrieve AI Results 🔄
As AI processing completes, the results are downloaded during the next sync. Depending on how long the validation process takes, you may need to sync more than once before the AI results appear.
In the project view, the user will see the AI workflow status.
Statuses:
- 🟡 AI Analysis In Progress – AI validation is still running.
- ✅ AI Analysis Complete – AI validation has finished.
📊 Viewing Validation Results in the Project
Once the AI workflow is Complete, the user can see validation results.
Failed Validations Display
- 🔴 Red number = There are failed validations.
- ⚪ Neutral color = No failed validations.
This helps users quickly identify projects that need attention.
📁 Section Indicators
Inside the project view, sections show indicators when validation results are available.
📌 These indicators appear even if the AI workflow is still In Progress.
This allows users to begin reviewing results while processing continues.
🔍 Checking Validation Issues
1️⃣ Open a Section
Tap into a section of the project.
Users will see which fields contain photos with failed validations.
2️⃣ Identify Failed Photos
Within the section:
- Photo thumbnails display indicators showing which images failed validation.
This makes it easy to locate problematic photos quickly.
3️⃣ View the Validation Message
Tap the thumbnail of a photo with a failed validation.
The app will display:
💬 The AI validation message explaining why the photo failed.
Example reasons may include:
- Blurry image
- Incorrect framing
- Missing required subject
Users can then retake the photo if needed.
📋 Project List View
AI validation results are also visible in the project list view.
Workflow Status
Each project displays the AI workflow status:
- 🟡 In Progress
- ✅ Complete
Failed Validation Count
When the workflow is Complete:
- 🔴 Red number → Failed validations exist
- ⚪ Neutral color → No failed validations
This allows users to quickly see which projects require fixes.
💡 Best Practice
Before leaving the job site:
✔ Sync the project
✔ Wait for AI results to begin returning
✔ Check for red failed validations
✔ Fix photos immediately if needed
This helps prevent return trips to the site.
