This document provides an overview of the primary SiteCapture integration options—Palmetto LightReach, Zapier, Salesforce and Full REST API—to help customers evaluate and choose the best solution for their needs.
1. Palmetto LightReach
Overview
This integration currently works with the Palmetto LightReach “Solar” Program. It automates the documentation process between SiteCapture and the Palmetto LightReach portal. By syncing field data directly to Palmetto LightReach, the integration reduces the need for manually image upload via the Palmetto LightReach portal and helps expedite between the Notice to Proceed (NTP) and Milestone 1 (M1) requirements submission, ensuring your installation packages are submitted fast and accurately.
Benefits
- Accelerated Project Lifecycles: Automatically triggers the creation of Job Close Out (JCO) reports in SiteCapture at the NTP stage, moving projects toward Milestone 1 (M1) faster.
- Reduced Administrative Overhead: Eliminates the need for manual photo uploads and PDF transfers. Data flows directly into the "Installation Package" area of the LightReach portal and images are categorized and pushed into the correct Palmetto LightReach sections of the installation package
- Improved Accuracy: Ensures all required site photos and a summary report are tied to the correct account, reducing the risk of missing documentation or manual entry errors.
- Faster Funding: By streamlining the submission of M1 requirements, you can shorten the window between installation and project approval.
Documentation & Deliverables
When a Job Close Out is completed in SiteCapture, the integration automatically delivers:
- Required Photos: All site imagery necessary for Palmetto’s review.
- PDF Summary Report: A comprehensive job summary (including photos) generated from the field data.
Limitations
- Program Specificity: This integration is exclusively for the Palmetto Solar Program (including Solar + Storage).
- Exclusions: It does not currently support the "Energy Backup" (battery-only) program, It only works at the M1 stage and does not yet support sending “activitation” required data directly via the integration
- Fixed Trigger Point: The automated sync is specifically tied to the NTP (Notice to Proceed) stage as the catalyst for the Job Close Out report.

2. Zapier Integration (3rd Party)
Overview
Zapier enables no-code automation by connecting SiteCapture with thousands of apps. This is the easiest option for teams looking for quick wins without heavy development.
Benefits
- No Coding Required: Great for non-technical teams.
- Fast Setup: Automations ("Zaps") can be configured in minutes.
- Large App Ecosystem: Connect SiteCapture to common tools like Google Drive, Slack, Airtable, HubSpot, and more.
- Cost-Effective for Light Integrations: Good for basic triggers and actions.
Limitations
- Limited Flexibility: Only supports the triggers and actions exposed through Zapier.
- Volume-Based Limits: High-frequency workflows may require costly Zapier plans.
- Not Ideal for Complex Business Logic: Better suited for simple automations.

3. Salesforce Integration
Overview
SiteCapture offers a native integration with Salesforce, allowing teams to sync projects, photos, forms, and other data directly between the two platforms. This option is best suited for organizations heavily invested in Salesforce as their system of record.
Benefits
- Native Experience: Works seamlessly within Salesforce with minimal custom engineering.
- Real-Time Syncing: Fast and reliable exchange of project data and photos
- Customization Through Salesforce: Ability to tailor mapping, workflows, and automation using Salesforce tools.
- Strong for Enterprise Workflows: Ideal for companies that centralize their operations inside Salesforce.
Limitations
- Requires Salesforce Expertise: Implementation often requires admin- or developer-level knowledge in Salesforce.
- Higher Cost Structure: Salesforce licensing and customization can increase overall cost.
- Less Flexible Than Custom API: Good for standardized workflows but not ideal for highly unique integrations.

4. Full REST API Integration
Overview
The SiteCapture REST API provides full programmatic access to project data, photos, field values, user information, and more. This is the most flexible integration option and is suited for teams with engineering resources.
Benefits
- Maximum Flexibility: Full control over how data is fetched, created, and updated.
- Custom Workflows: Ideal for companies with unique or proprietary systems.
- Scalable: Supports advanced automation, data pipelines, and internal platforms.
- Direct, Efficient Data Access: No middleware limitations.
Limitations
- Requires Engineering Resources: Development and maintenance should be handled by a technical team.
- Longer Implementation Time: Planning, development, and QA phases may take weeks or months.
- Maintenance Responsibility: Customers must own and maintain the integration code.
Choosing the Right Integration
Use Palmetto LightReach to:
- Automate Milestone Submissions: Instantly trigger pre-built job close out templates at the NTP stage to satisfy M1 requirements automatically.
- Establish a Direct Data Pipeline: Eliminate upload errors with field photos and PDF summaries that sync automatically to the correct LightReach account.
- Eliminate Administrative Bottlenecks: Remove the need for manual asset organization; the integration builds and formats your "Installation Packages" for you.
- Accelerate Time-to-Funding: Shorten review cycles and get paid faster by streamlining the delivery of critical job closeout documentation.
Use Zapier if:
- You want a lightweight, fast, and no-code integration.
- Your use cases are simple, like notifications or file transfers.
- You don’t want to maintain custom code.
Use Salesforce if:
- Your organization already relies heavily on Salesforce.
- You want a native sync without building custom code.
- Your workflows align well with Salesforce’s data structure.
Use the full REST API if:
- You have engineering resources.
- You need full control and customization.
- Your business requires advanced or proprietary workflows.
Summary
SiteCapture offers integration options for businesses of all sizes and technical capabilities. Whether you need a native solution for automated solar project JCO submissions with Palmetto LightReach, simple no-code automations with Zapier, a native Salesforce sync, or a fully customizable API solution, each method has distinct advantages to help streamline your workflow and improve operational efficiency.
