Clearing a failed validation just got quicker. When a validation fails, you'll now see a dedicated "Resolve this validation" checkbox right on the validation β no need to open the editor and change the status manually.
Any user with edit permission on a project can resolve validations on that project. If a field user resolved the issue that caused a validation to fail, the validation can be manually resolved so it no longer appears as Failed. Follow the steps below to update the validation status.
π Who Can Resolve a Validation?
- Any user with edit permission on the project β this is no longer limited to Portal Admins and Managers
- Users with read-only access to a project (because of their permission level, their role, or the projectβs current state) cannot resolve or edit validations
- This applies in the Web App and in the iOS and Android apps

β¨ What's Changed
Previously, every validation showed an Edit icon, and resolving a failed validation meant clicking Edit and updating the status yourself. Now the button you see depends on the validation's state:
- Failed validation β shows a Resolve button (labeled "Resolve" or a check-mark icon) with a helpful tooltip explaining what it does.
π When Can You Resolve a Validation?
Youβll see the Edit button when a validation status is:
- Failed
- Needs Manual Review
- Resolved
Validations marked Needs Manual Review (yellow indicator) can be resolved in exactly the same way as failed validations once someone on your team has reviewed the photo.
βοΈ How to Resolve a Failed Validation
- Find the validation in a failed state.
- Click on the red edit icon.
- Check "Resolve this validation".
- The status dropdown is automatically set to "Resolved" and locked β no need to pick a status.
- Add a comment if you'd like (just as you do today).
- Click Save.
- The failed validation will now turn green and Pass (see 2nd image).
β FAQ
Can I still add a comment when resolving? Yes β the comment box works exactly as it does today. Only the status dropdown is pre-set and locked to "Resolved."
What if I clicked Resolve by mistake? You can close out without saving, and the validation keeps its current state.
